Are you limiting your business success?

Research suggests that a person's self image is very much affected by the experiences that they've had before the age of 5.
One of the biggest problems with that is that before the age of 5 we were all very small.

When you are small, everything in the world seems to be big.
Especially negative things like problems, strangers, unfamiliar situations.

Maybe this is why too many business people that we know are afraid of the challenges that they are facing, especially challenges that are not well defined.

We recently developed a website for a business owner in the home services sector in Vaughan and Toronto, Ontario. After designing the website we promoted it on search engines by creating lots of relevant and useful content for the end user.

After a few months of promoting the website, the business owner became discouraged and cut down a lot of the original marketing plan that we had for his website.

When discussing this, the business owner explained that he couldn't see himself competing with the strong leaders of his industry, so he prefers to 'play it safe' and focus on a very small part of the market.

To me, this is a classic example of someone who limits himself just because he imagines his problems (competitors) as big and scary.

Practically speaking, if the promotion was to continue for a few more months, our client, the business owner would have enjoyed success in the bigger market category.

So don't imagine your challenges as big and don't imagine yourself as small. You are not 5 years old.

Instead, imagine your challenges as small and they'll soon become even smaller.
